This week I decided to revisit a series of posts I did a number of years ago, because my goodness, how our lunches have changed! You might remember this series: lunch week in review that I did back in 2015. It was designed to show you in detail what was in our lunches each day. So here is a week of lunchboxes from us, with master 4 in preschool three days and Miss 6 at school all week, there’s a lot of lunchy stuff happening!
If you haven’t worked it out yet, I love making lunches. They are fun, quick and easy. If you need help choosing a lunchbox or finding recipes, head over to this page which should help you out. And if by some chance you aren’t following Kidgredients on instagram, you should! Lunches go up every day and so do new recipes, tips and tricks.
(FYI: this post contains affiliate links, which means I get a small commission if you buy the lunchboxes that I link too…think of it as buying me a coffee)
Today both kids are using yumboxes, but Master 4 has his lunch in the yumbox panino and Miss 6 is using the yumbox original. They both have yumbox mini snacks for their “recess” breaks and Miss 6 also has a freezable lid container for crunch and sip.
Left over pasta was in both boxes, with tomato sugo. Miss 6 has a zucchini and pea brown rice fritter as well. There’s also some leftover baked sweet potato in Master 4’s. Only Miss 6 took a cooler bag: so young.
Both kids are using yumbox panino‘s today! See how versatile they are? Sandwich sushi for Master 4 with chicken and mayo and a low sugar coconut cookie, and Miss 6 has leftover rice, chicken and veggies from dinner with a coconut coookie and some baked raspberry pikelets. Only Miss 6 took a cooler bag: medium fridge to go.
Leftover lamb made for yummy rice paper rolls in the panino’s! Perfect in the lunchbox, rice paper rolls are a great way to use up leftover roast meats. I popped some cucumber and carrots into these, but you can really use whatever your kids love. There’s leftover veggies from dinner in each lunchbox too. And Miss 6 has those baked pikelets again! Using the fuel snack and dip for crunch and sip. Cooler bag: so young.
Mixing it up today with the Little lunchbox co bento 3 as our main lunchbox for Miss 6, with lebanese breads filled with leftover lamb and baby spinach. She also had date and banana muffin, more baked pikelets, some cloud jelly with not enough gelatin (oops) in the my lil pouch. Cooler bag: medium fridge to go.
Friday, friday, the best day of the week! More lamb and baby spinach lebanese bread wraps (it only takes half a wrap to make 2 of these and they are preservative and additive free- they also defrost really well and are super cheap – under $2 for 7 wraps), more cloud jelly with not enough gelatin and lots of fruit and veggies! Using the yumbox panino, yumbox mini snack and the fuel snack and dip. Cooler bag: so young.
