This post is sponsored by Nude Food Movers, but it’s definitely worth a read and all the opinions in it are mine. Nude food movers have been in our house since before I had kids, and before I became obsessed with lunches, lunchboxes and kids food. When I was offered the opportunity to review the Nude Food Movers 2016 collection in light of Nude Food Day and Nude Food Month, I have to admit I was excited.
Let’s talk about what I love about Nude Food Movers first. There is a lot of variety in their range, you can go the full rubbish free lunch, with the compartments on the sides and label them for crunch and sip and recess, or you can go the separate containers and have one for yoghurt and maybe the snack tubes for crunch and sip. No matter which way you choose, they are good value for money. The yoghurt movers and the snack tubes are particular favourites at Kidgredients.
But what I really love is their commitment to getting rubbish out of our kids lunches. Most schools don’t have recycling facilities in the playground for plastics etc. Instead, all rubbish at recess and lunch goes into large rubbish bins that then don’t go through any post collection sorting. So the best thing we can do for our planet is send in lunches that involve no rubbish.
Then…well there’s the other side of this. Personally, I feel that the rubbish free side of Nude Food movers has two meanings, one of course is the actual physical rubbish and the other is “rubbish food”. If we aren’t buying it in a packet, maybe we are making it ourselves, or sending fresh fruit and veggies instead…and that is a much better solution! I’m all for replacing whatever storebought favourites you have with healthier wholefood alternatives, and this is the perfect way to send those to school, be it homemade yoghurt, or even chopped fruit salad.
Every year, Nude food Day is celebrated across Australia with the plan to encourage
and parents to eat well and live well, and eliminate all unnecessary packaging and wrapping that goes into schools. It’s such an awesome initiative and has been getting bigger and bigger every year!
My favourite pieces of the collection are definitely the snack tubes and the yoghurt movers, but I can see as well that there have been improvements to the quality of the rubbish free lunchbox which means that basically this whole collection is perfect for the budget conscious family!
