So, you know that calcium is important for strong bones, right? Here's ten ways I include extra dairy in the lunchbox.
- Yoghurt, I make my own! It's super simple to do and is so cheap! It's one of the best ways to add extra dairy into the lunchbox. If you don't make your own, buy a good quality one like Jalna pot set.
- Yoghurt dough scrolls. There are heaps of types of them on the blog, and they all have one thing in common- they contain yoghurt. These ones are apple cinnamon, but you get the idea!
- Cheese is really versatile. I love to put it in fritters because it adds flavour and also some more goodness! These carrot spinach and fetta fritters are a favourite!
- Flavour your yoghurt! My kids aren't a fan of it 100% plain, but these ideas should give you some ways to flavour your yoghurt and make it more appealing without need to buy kiddie yoghurts!
- Cloud jellies are an awesome way to get extra dairy in! The probiotics in the yoghurt are good for you too. I took the original recipe and made them even easier.
- If you're sending in a hot lunch, make a batch of macaroni and cheese for the extra dairy hit! Perfect in a thermos, it packs a serious dairy punch!
- Strawberry cheesecake bliss balls are basically a cheesecake, but in an easy to eat form that packs well and freezes too! Need more convincing? They only contain 4 ingredients.
- Cheesy crackers are another way to get some dairy in! Plus they taste great with cheese...
- Haloumi, zucchini and mint muffins are a sneaky way to get greens and dairy into the lunchbox! Perfect for freezing and super yummy, they are fantastic for little hands!
- Banana berry smoothie, packed in a yoghurt pouch and kept cool with an icepack is a great dairy hit. And basically, everything tastes better as a smoothie!
