This is a guest post from Tash from Gift Grapevine. She has so many awesome present ideas, I asked her along to guest post. Now, what better present for the kid that has it all than a dinnerware set? Tash is showing us the ones she loves- 11 affordable kid’s dinnerware sets …with each one cuter than the one before!
Have you bought a dinnerware set for anyone? They regularly feature in the presents I give, especially when people have a baby. They are the ideal…not clothes, not books, not boring presents if you ask me…practicality is everything! I wish I had Tash’s list of affordable dinnerware sets before the last birthday I shopped for!
11 affordable kid’s dinnerware sets
Finding a gift that kids love but parents appreciate can be tricky. Kids have so much stuff! As little ones become independent with their eating, affordable kid’s dinnerware sets make a practical and stylish gift that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
Pretty and fragile, my childhood Bunnykins china dinnerware set sits in our display cupboard gathering dust. The thought of my two tornadoes with china dinnerware scares the bejesus out of me so I find melamine more kid-friendly. With the quality of BPA-free melamine products greatly improved, there are many gorgeous and affordable kid’s dinnerware sets which would make lovely gifts. Here I’m sharing 11 affordable kid’s dinnerware sets that are my favourites plus a few extra accessories (because I’m a sucker for a cute egg cup).
Stunning Bloomingville Mini melamine dinnerware with plate, bowl, cup and matching wash cloth.
Working Wheels cup, plate and bowl set – perfect for a child obsessed with diggers, trucks and things that move.
This Belle and Boo melamine 3-piece boxed set features such lovely soft colours.

The designs by Rice DK are just adorable with sweet tray plates, cups, cutlery and lunch plates available. I love these beautiful butterfly plates.
This educational dinnerware set (available in pink or blue) from The Busy Mums Store is great for older kids. Owner Carmel sells her high quality dinnerware at fetes and markets around the Melbourne area (Australia).
Skip Hop make a fun range of affordable kid’s dinnerware sets, certain to guarantee a smile with their bright colours and friendly animal faces. Miss T is still using her monkey plate five years after she first received it. The hardest part is choosing which animal you like best. Matching ‘Zootensils’ cutlery is also available.
This Robert Welch Radford 4-piece stainless steel child cutlery set would make a classic gift for young ones and is perfect for a special occasion gift like a christening/baptism/naming ceremony.
As a kid, “dippy eggs” was my favourite food. I used to love how my Mum drew on my egg too. This adorable bear egg cup reminds me of those happy memories. I can just imagine drawing bear ears, bunny ears or even a hat on the egg for this little dude.
These Danish designed wooden egg holders called Bordfolk (“Table People” in Danish) may just be the cutest I have seen. Lots of characters are available and each come boxed – perfect for a keepsake and practical gift.
Solid and with a cork backing, personalised placemats from Little Bellies make a unique gift for kids. For pre-Christmas delivery, these need to be ordered by 8pm EST Sunday 4th December.
Simple and sweet, I love these cute We Might Be Tiny pastel bunny and bear placemats, made from a toxic-free, non-slip and food grade silicone.
