This post is updated and now has a video! Woohoo! 6 natural ways to flavour Greek yoghurt for kids...who knew it would be so popular? New photos were definitely needed!

Have you noticed? I don't buy kiddy yoghurts. One of the main reasons for that is their sugar content, one of the other reasons is that I'm a cheapskate. I make my own yoghurt for around $1.20 per litre. The kids love it, I use it in baking, lunchboxes and all sorts of things.

Need yummy ways to flavour Greek yoghurt? Perfect for kids who are used to kiddie yoghurts or who don't like it plain! Cheaper than buying prepackaged flavoured yoghurt.

It's thick, creamy and delicious on it's own, but it does have a tang to it, so if you've got picky kids or kids who are used to kiddy yoghurt, you will need to flavour it. Plus, let's be honest, it's fun to have different flavours of yoghurt in your lunch! So here are 6 ways to flavour Greek yoghurt!

If you want to read more about the kiddy yoghurts, Stacey from My Kids Lick the Bowl has done an awesome blog post about it. Once you see how much sugar is in those pouches, you will never turn back.

When I mention yoghurt in this article, I'm talking full fat, greek yoghurt. Jalna make a pot set one. It is as similar to the homemade yoghurt that I make that you will find in a supermarket. Low fat yoghurt has no place in a kids lunchbox unless it has been prescribed by a medical practitioner.

Now, I recently moved to using reusable yoghurt pouches (I use My Lil Pouch- I've tried a few brands but really like these ones- I have to admit here that they have sent me some to use gratis, but that doesn't change my opinion...because I've had a few brands sent to me for free and this is the one I like best) and the ease of using them has gotten me hooked.

Miss 4 doesn't need a spoon (which gets lost anyway) and doesn't complain about wanting her yoghurt to look like the ones the other kids have because the pouches are cute with nice designs. They can also go in the dishwasher--a big plus for me. I'll be sharing a post next week with my top tips for using yoghurt pouches. You can read my post on how to use the pouches here.

My family like flavoured yoghurts, I like Greek yoghurt. My husband gags at Greek yoghurt, do these flavoured yoghurt recipes taste like the "Chobani" flavours ( my husband hates) or are they more like the sweetened yoghurts like "Pauls" brand for example ( my husband likes) . If not, can you add sugar or sweeteners to enhance the taste as obviously fruits will add their own Sucrose and tastes depending on season freshness and ripeness etc. We are not overly concerned with having to add "sugar" to achieve a palatable taste etc but the possibilities of a fresher, better culture is of attraction.

These are flavoured, not sweetened, if you want sweetened add sugar or whatever sweetener tickles your fancy.

Your mouthwatering pictures have bewitched me body and soul, however the recipe I can see is the strawberry flavoured one. How can I see the rest of the recipes? I'm desperate to make the whole lot for myself and my children! Thank you so much!

Thanks. I've tried a few in the freezer and we'll see how it goes!

It was very runny though. Is that expected?

My daughter practically lives on yogurt. Can't wait to try a few of these out and see if they go down well. I often get a 'how dare you' looks for adding pieces of fruit in the mix.

We usually only have greek yoghurt in our house, the girls actually prefer it which is great and we love making up our own flavours. I have always thought about getting those pouches but have always walked away because I am really concerned about how clean you can actually get them. Will have to pop baclk and read your post on them.
