You know what, I hate packing for days out. It all basically can fall apart based on ONE single solitary item. Just one little thing and you are on the path to disaster. So here is my list of everything you need for a fun beach day.
Everything you need for a fun beach day
Towels by Tesalate. I hate packing massive chunky towels that weigh a tonne, clog up with sand and are impossible to carry when wet. That’s where these amazing towels from tesalate come in. They take half the time to dry than a normal beach towel does, take up only a teensy bit of space and they are sand free. One shake and you can leave the sand where it’s supposed to be- at the beach! They wash easily, dry easily and fold up so compact you don’t need to worry because they will fit in the beach bag. They are also ideal for camping as they are easy to hang to dry, with a hook specifically for hanging them stitched into them. Not only that but there is a design to suit everyone. I didn’t think they would be as awesome as they are, but after giving them a go, I can say- this towel will literally change how you go to the beach. Beach basket. I’m a firm believer in multipurpose items and this French market basket is just that- I use it for shopping, swimming, carrying stuff to a friends house, and as a beach bag. It’s super easy to shove everything in and the long handles mean that I can carry it hands-free- super helpful when you’ve got two kids and a dog to get to the beach! This one is from two ducks and we love it! They have lots of different styles, mine is a large one.
Sunscreen. If like me you or your kids have itchy or allergic skin, then I have found the best sunscreen for you. I cannot recommend wotnot sunscreen highly enough. It’s the only thing that doesn’t mean the day after the beach is psoriasis flare-up day for me. I use it only on my face as it is quite intensely moisturizing and it’s the only place I get psoriasis, but I love how it makes my face feel. I also religiously use it on Master 6 as he is an itchy scratchy kid. It is brilliant stuff- check it out here. (affiliate link)
Swimming hats by Bed Head. I am one of those mothers, I make the kids wear hats all the time. And these awesome ones from bedhead hats mean the kids can get wet with a hat on. They dry quickly, the girls designs have ponytail holes and they have sizes that fit kids right up to teenagers. Every fairheaded kid should be wearing a hat in the water- because the feeling of sunburnt scalp is awful!! Check out their gorgeous swimming hats here.
Drink bottles. I hate warm water. My kids hate warm water, so the best thing is a drink bottle that is insulated like these from Montii.Co as they keep your water super cold. We go for big sizes because that means we can stay and have fun longer at the beach. Their bottles keep water cold for a whole day, no problems! To find the perfect bottle for you click here. Snack container. I always take snacks, and this container from Little Bento World is awesome for carrying a variety of snacks for a fun day at the beach. I use it for fruit and veggies, crackers, cheese the works. Get your own here. (affiliate link)
Mum hat. I look silly in hats, or I did until I found this hat from Before Dark by Rigoni. I feel like I look pretty cool in it, and I’ve had heaps of compliments on it (I bought this myself). Also, every time it gets squashed by the kids (multiple times per day) it just pushes back into shape. Check out the hats here.
Talc. WHAT? Why? Because seriously, even if you have a sand free towel, then the kids will manage to cover themselves so completely in sand that basically your car will turn into a sand dune. Unless you do this simple trick. Sprinkle Talcum powder (I like this one from Little Innoscents as it contains no nasties) over their legs and arms…and anywhere else they have sand and brush it straight off! Get some here.
