This post is brought to you by Recycled Mats. They supplied my family with the gorgeous mat in the photos free of charge, as always all opinions in here are my own. Family picnic- what to make and how to make them fun!
Family picnics, are one of the reasons I love spring. I love autumn too, not too hot, not too cold, and perfect for picnics. It’s taken me a little longer to do this post than I anticipated, and the reason for that has been the weather! You see, I can’t go on a family picnic with just Master 5, as Miss 7 would be devastated to miss out, so I’ve had to wait for a dry and sunny weekend…and in Sydney they have been few and far between.
Before we get to the yummy stuff I need to talk a little about the awesomeness of this picnic mat- because seriously it is cool! Let’s go a little back in time so we can set the scene. Remember when you were part of a couple? And you got a picnic blanket, because romantic picnics were all the thing? And then you became a couple with a kid and the picnic blanket was the one you had, so you just kept using it…and then you had two kids and basically you ended up on the grass because the kids took up the WHOLE picnic blanket? Well Recycled Mats make outdoor rugs that are perfect for people like you and I.
Made from recycled materials and in amazing colour schemes and shapes, they have a recycled mat for every application and every occasion. We absolutely love their Eucalyptus Mat in Pink and Blue. Not only is it gorgeous- look at those colours! But it also is big enough for the whole family….plus there’s space for food, scooters…and all the other stuff that comes with a family picnic. When the picnic is over there is ample room for relaxing and watching the kids play and for some cartwheels and handstands.
I think one of these is the ideal gift for anyone who loves to explore the great outdoors with their family. But it’s not just designed for outdoors use- we also pop it on the loungeroom floor for movie night (easy popcorn cleanup) and use it on our sunroom floor for playing.
