Vacuuming sucks. We all know it. I have two kids, a semi full time job, a dog, a puppy, I volunteer at ethics, I volunteer at reading and we have more after (and before) school activities than I care to name.
Most of the time I’m keeping my head just above water. The rest of the time, I’m semi drowned. One of the first things to go when I’m semi-drowned is the house.
I put on the dishwasher- it’s automatic, I put on the washing machine, I shove stuff in the dryer…I pressure cook dinner…but the floors and the cleaning…well. And that means that my house looks terrible all the time.
And that means I don’t have people over, and the worse it gets the more work it is to eventually get it back to normal.
So when Ecovacs offered me a Deebot Ozmo 900 to try at home, I have to admit I may have squealed a little. Effectively, it’s all my cleaning dreams come true.
Being a mop, vacuum and sweep in one, it means I have so much extra time up my sleeve. Plus it looks like I’ve been cleaning the house. BONUS!
The first time you start it up and connect your smart phone, you get it going and it will map out the space and will sort out how long it will take to clean.
For now I’ve just got it doing our loungeroom and kitchen area and main hallway…mostly because despite a number of attempts the kids have not gotten everything off their bedroom floors.
Featuring the Evovacs’s signature Smart Navi 3.0 navigation and mapping technology, the DEEBOT Ozmo 900 scans the home and creates a visual map in the new Home App. After generating a visual map, the DEEBOT OZMO 900 will automatically create an efficient cleaning path that best suits your home environment.
With Obstacle Detection Technology, the smart robot uses anti-collision sensors to keep your walls and furniture safe from marks and scuffs. That also means if you are working from home and have your feet in front of where it is going…it goes around them.
When vacuuming it detects the change from hard floor to carpet and adjusts accordingly. And its easy to keep track of the accessories and how much life they have left because…you guessed it…it’s in the app!
You can make virtual boundaries on the map to stop your Deebot Ozmo 900 from going into certain areas of the map, or you can even use custom mode and just get it to clean a certain area of your map…super handy when you drop a bag of flour when baking!
Using an interchangeable and tangle-free inlet system, the vacuum suction attachment is designed to collect hairs without tangling or blockage, while the Main Brush provides a thorough clean on carpets.
It’s easy to switch over to mopping too, just fill the 240 ml reservoir and attach the mop attachment. Select mopping in the app and you’re done. Sit back and relax while your floor gets cleaned.
You can also set up do-not disturb times in the app so you don’t get any rude vacuuming surprises in the middle of the night, plus schedule daily cleans that suit your routine.
If your day changes, just turn it off automatic and it won’t do the clean. It couldn’t actually be simpler to use! When it’s done cleaning the deebot takes itself back to it’s charging station and recharges to it is always ready to go.
And random: but you get to name your deebot in the app. So I called him “Harry the cleaning wizard”. 😉
My verdict: it’s awesome. While I won’t be getting rid of my stick vacuum, as we have stairs, I’m loving the feeling of constantly clean floors and ease of use. It’s worth every cent.
It is being launched across Australia right now, and is available at Costco Roadshow at Auburn for Costco Members. It will have a retail price in stores (other than Costco- theirs is a great deal) of $999.

How does it know not to mop the carpets???
Kylie says
I block carpeted areas if it’s on mop mode! I just put up a barrier on the app.

Yep, it’s a whole system. I feel like it has actually revolutionised my house…and my life. Is that too much? Maybe. But it honestly has made me feel so much better about my home.
