Welcome to Kidgredients!
My name is Kylie and I’m a mum to two mini Kidgredients, Miss 7 and Master 5. I started Kidgredients to share what I am cooking with and for my family.
Let’s talk about that food. What I cook we eat. If it’s on the blog, we’ve eaten it. No tricks, no smoke and mirrors, no semi baked chicken that is salmonella in a baking dish so that it looks better, just actual real good, honest family food.
Both of my kids are different, Miss 7 likes plain food whereas Master 5 likes marinades and sauces. Between them making dinnertime a success is hard work! Likewise, Master 5 won’t eat a sandwich. There’s nothing like keeping me on my toes. I used to be a classroom teacher and I know how important it is for kids to have a filling and nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner so as to keep them going through the day. I understand that getting dinner on the table can be really hard sometimes, so there’s no croque-embouche here!
So I’ve got budget friendly meals, dinners, side dishes, freezer meals, lunchbox ideas and everything in between! If you’re not following us on facebook, twitter, pinterest or instagram…you can join us by using the buttons over the side. My true obsession is lunchboxes though, and you can read all about them here.
Our family favourites are all here and I hope they will become yours too. If you’re new here, make sure you have a look through the recipe files. If you’ve been around for a while, the search will help you relocate recipes you are after.
I’m all about wholefood and homemade. By this I mean: I understand not everyone buys organic food. The place to start is wholefood and homemade. You can read more about my food philosophy in this blog post: I’m not a smug foodie.
Kidgredients was nominated for a Bupa Blog Award in 2016 and was a finalist!
I’m featured on Australian Good Food Guide.
