One of the things I love to do when cooking, is getting the kids involved to make a healthier version of something they already love. Using the Russell Hobbs Air Fry Crisp ’N Bake Toaster Oven has meant that we could switch our favourite banana fritters to a healthier version.

Banana fritters have been a favourite since the kids tried them for dessert in a restaurant and they have been begging me to make them. I didn’t want to try to make them because I was pretty sure that these traditionally deep-fried delicacies would be a hit…and then they would be requested all the time.

    Why use an air fryer?

Using an air fryer like the Air Fry Crisp ’N Bake Toaster Oven means you can fry, much like in a deep fryer, but with far less oil, making your treats healthy and yummy! If you haven’t used one before, be prepared to be amazed what air frying can do: from crispy nuggets to crunchy chips and flaky pastries, it’s the kitchen wonder that actually helps you to eat healthier.

What’s special about the Russell Hobbs
Air Fry Crisp ’N Bake Toaster Oven?

Not only does the Russell Hobbs Air Fry Crisp ’N Bake Toaster Oven do a great job of air frying, but you can also use it to cook Christmas dinner, bake a cake or help munch your way through the Christmas leftovers. You can also grill, toast and keep warm, meaning it’s a great help at this busy time of year.

My kids love it when I make wrap pizzas in the toaster oven as they are much quicker than the conventional oven and they can see them cooking on the kitchen bench. I flick the knob to air-fry at the end to crisp the base that little bit extra and make it more like pizzeria pizza.

    Where can I get one?
Retailing at $149.95 at Betta, Big W, Bi Rite, The Good Guys, Harris Scarfe, JB Hi-Fi Home, Harvey Norman & Target, the Russell Hobbs Air Fry Crisp ’N Bake Toaster Oven has a 20L capacity, meaning it can hold a 12” pizza or 6 slices of bread. It uses convection Air Fry Technology and 1500W of cooking to get crispy, yummy results every time. The Air Fry basket ensures that the air circulates all around your food whilst cooking. The variable temp control goes all the way to 220 degrees Celsius means you have full control over your cooking temp and the toast timer means you don’t forget it…

You can actually fit a whole chicken in the Russell Hobbs Air Fry Crisp ’N Bake Toaster Oven or do super crispy pork belly in no time at all. It’s perfect for easy dinners over the summer months- and I think I would even take ours camping- because I miss having an oven when I’m not at home.

But back to those banana fritters. For a healthier afternoon snack, I pop them in an ice cream cone with yoghurt, fruit and the fritter on top. The kids think it’s awesome because who doesn’t love anything served in a cone, it instantly means it’s more fun.

By skipping the ice cream and subbing with yoghurt, it’s a healthier option, but it still looks impressive.

Your recipe sounds really good! Can I replace butter with oil or just Cook without it?

Love banana fritters, When I was a teenager I used to always order one, from the Chinese restaurant, on my walk home from swimming training! These look a lot better for you! Will be trying for sure.
